Porn Is Pumping This Cryptocurrency’s Value Up!

Verge Gets Pumped Up By PornWhat happens when one of the most taboo markets in the world meets one of the most taboo methods of payment in the world? We just found that out! The answer… a cryptocurrency flies in value.

One of the biggest stories in the cryptocurrency market today is the fact that a partnership with a porn website has led to drastic gains in the value of a cryptocurrency known as Verge. Today, we’ll talk about:

  • The news surrounding one of the world’s largest adult entertainment websites accepting cryptocurrency;
  • what the news did to the value of Verge;
  • and what we’ll be watching for ahead.

Portnhub Now Accepts Verge

As mentioned above, there is one cryptocurrency that is getting a boost from the porn industry. There’s news circulating around the cryptosphere that Pornhub has started accepting cryptocurrency as a payment option. The site, which just so happens to be one of the largest adult entertainment websites in the world has started to accept Verge, a cryptocurrency that is a rebranded version of Dogecoindark, a cryptocurrency that split off from Dogecoin. It was also announced that Pornhub sister sites, including Brazzers and Nutaku, will also accept Verge as a form of payment.

Pornhub executives pointed out that there is a reason that it chose to start by accepting Verge as a form of payment in the cryptocurrency space. That reason is that Verge is anonymity-focused, and in the world of adult entertainment anonymity is key. While most cryptocurrencies are thought to provide anonymity, the reality is that the idea of a public ledger makes anonymity difficult. However, Verge uses an anonymity tool known as Tor as well as an anonymous network layer I2P. This means that while the ledger is open to the public, specific transaction IP addresses and locations are hidden within the ledger.

The executives at Pornhub have been looking into offering cryptocurrency as a form of payment “for quite some time,” according to Corey Price, VP at Pornhub. At the end of the day, cryptocurrency as a form of payment provides security and convenience, and Price believes this is an important value addition for its members.

What We’re Seeing From Verge

Any time a cryptocurrency gets a form of validation from the market, we can expect to see drastic gains in the value of that cryptocurrency. While the market that has picked up Verge is a taboo one, Pornhub is no small company, and adding Verge as a form of payment to the website will greatly enhance the visibility of the cryptocurrency. So, it’s no surprise that when the news broke, the cryptocurrency skyrocketed in value. In fact, Verge climbed in value by 22% shortly after the news broke.
